Got fired

I was let go from my job after standing up to my toxic boss. Over the past 1.5 years, I made two mistakes that ultimately cost me my position. It was an incredibly challenging role that took a toll on my physical and mental health.

A word of caution for those in private equity: be careful with your decisions. When things go wrong, you’ll find that the support is lacking and the blame often falls squarely on your shoulders.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear that you went through such a tough experience. It’s frustrating to feel like you were put in a position where you had to push back just to maintain your integrity, especially in a high-stakes field like private equity. It sounds like you were caught in a toxic environment where accountability and support were lacking. Remember, it’s not a reflection of your worth or skills; sometimes the culture just doesn’t align with healthy work practices.

Take this as an opportunity to reflect on what you want in your next role. It’s important to find an environment that values collaboration and support. Your well-being should come first. Keep focusing on your recovery and your next steps—better opportunities are out there!
