Accountants, what’s the very first thing you do when tax season ends?

1. After tax season ends, the very first thing I do is take a moment to decompress and celebrate the completion of another busy season. Then, I usually conduct a debrief with my team to evaluate what went well and what could be improved for next year. It’s also a good time to start organizing files and documentation for the next season, as well as reviewing our processes to streamline our workflow. Finally, I make sure to schedule some much-needed time off to recharge before the next cycle begins!
