What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Wacky World of Document Submission: Share Your Most Bizarre Client Experiences

In the fast-paced world of client communications, we often encounter unconventional methods for sending important documents. Sometimes these submissions leave us baffled, amused, or both. In the spirit of sharing our stories, I’d love to hear about the quirkiest or most troublesome document you’ve ever received from a client.

To kick things off, I’ll share my own experience. A while back, one of my clients decided to send me an invoice in a rather unconventional manner. Instead of attaching the PDF file directly, they took a photo of the document displayed on their iPad using their Samsung phone. Yes, you read that correctly! They then emailed me this photo. As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, we had to manually process that invoice. Talk about unnecessary complexity!

Now it’s your turn! Have you ever received a document that made you scratch your head in confusion? Perhaps it was a handwritten note, a scan that was turned upside down, or an image file with an ambiguous name like “Image(345).jpg.” I’m sure there are countless amusing stories out there that illustrate the chaos of document submissions.

I’m currently gathering these eccentric submissions to highlight the need for better processes in client communication. This isn’t a pitch for a solution—just a chance for us to bond over shared experiences. So please, share your stories! You’re definitely not alone in this hilarious dilemma.
