What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Most Unconventional Ways Clients Submit Documents

In the fast-paced world of digital communication, one would think that document submission would be straightforward. Yet, some of the stories I’ve encountered in this realm are nothing short of extraordinary—or perhaps, bewildering.

Let me share one memorable experience: A client once sent me a photograph of a PDF displayed on their iPad. The twist? The photo was taken with a Samsung phone and then emailed to me. As amusing as it sounds, we ended up having to process that invoice manually, which was far from efficient.

As I reflect on this and gather experiences for a project aimed at streamlining document submissions, I can’t help but wonder about the unusual methods others have encountered.

Have you ever received a handwritten note that was nearly impossible to decipher? Or a scan that was upside down, making it a challenge to read? Maybe it was a file labeled as “Image(345).jpg,” with no contextual clues.

I invite you to share your own stories of bizarre or frustrating document submissions. The more outrageous, the better! Let’s connect and find humor in the chaos of client communications. After all, we’re not alone in this struggle, and perhaps by sharing our experiences, we can inspire solutions that improve the way we handle document submissions in the future.
