The Most Outlandish Document Submissions I’ve Encountered: Share Your Stories!
In the world of client communication, receiving documents can sometimes turn into an unexpected adventure. We’ve all had that moment of disbelief when a client sends us a document in the most unconventional way possible. Today, I want to reflect on some of the most bizarre submissions I’ve experienced and invite you to share your own tales as well.
For instance, I once had a client who took a rather unusual approach. They sent me a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad, captured with a Samsung phone, and then proceeded to email that image. Unfortunately, we still had to manually process the invoice from this rather roundabout method.
This got me thinking about the varying degrees of challenges we face when receiving documents. From handwritten notes that are barely legible to upside-down scans, and filenames like “Image(345).jpg,” the ways clients can submit paperwork often defy all logic.
I’m not here to promote any specific solution or tool. Instead, I’m merely collecting anecdotes from fellow professionals who have navigated this same maze of document delivery challenges. It’s reassuring to know that many of us share similar experiences in this chaotic arena.
So, I invite you: What’s the most outrageous or peculiar document submission you’ve ever encountered? Whether it’s a messy handwritten letter or a file that left you scratching your head, I’d love to hear your stories. Let’s commiserate together and perhaps even find some humor in the chaos!
