What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Most Unconventional Document Submissions: Share Your Stories!

In the world of client communications, we often encounter bizarre methods of document submission that can leave us scratching our heads. Today, I want to open the floor to a lighthearted discussion about some of the most unconventional ways clients have provided us with important documents.

To kick things off, I’ll share my own head-scratching experience: there was a time when a client sent me a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad, but here’s the catch—they took the photo using a Samsung phone and then emailed the image to me. As you can imagine, we ended up having to manually process that invoice, which just added to the chaos!

Now, it’s your turn! What’s the oddest or most frustrating document submission you’ve encountered? Whether it’s a handwritten note, an upside-down scan, or a file renamed to something unrecognizable like “Image(345).jpg,” I’m eager to hear your stories.

I’m currently compiling these anecdotes for a project aimed at addressing the confusion surrounding document submissions, and I want to know I’m not alone in navigating this peculiar aspect of client interactions. So, please share your experiences—we could all use a good laugh (or a collective sigh) as we deal with the chaos together!
