What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Peculiar Ways Clients Submit Documents: A Call for Your Stories

In the realm of professional communication, document submission often takes on unexpected forms. We’ve all encountered the occasional hiccup, but some experiences stand out as particularly amusing or bewildering.

Allow me to share one of my own encounters. A client once decided to send an invoice via a rather unconventional method: they snapped a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad using a Samsung smartphone. This image was then emailed to me, leading to the need for a manual processing of the invoice—a fun twist to the workflow, to say the least!

I believe many of us have similar experiences. Have you received a document that left you scratching your head? Perhaps it was a handwritten note, a scan that was turned upside down, or an image file whimsically named “Image(345).jpg.” The possibilities are endless.

I’m eager to gather stories and experiences from other professionals who have encountered the unusual and the outright bizarre when it comes to document submissions. This isn’t about pitching solutions—rather, it’s about finding camaraderie in the chaos of our industries. Share your stories and let’s commiserate over the quirks of client communications. After all, we’re in this together!
