What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Strangest Ways Clients Have Submitted Documents: A Call for Your Stories

In the realm of document management, we often encounter a plethora of unique (and sometimes baffling) ways clients choose to submit their paperwork. It’s an amusing yet frustrating aspect of working with diverse clientele, and many of us have our own peculiar tales to share.

For instance, one particularly memorable experience involved a client who sent me a photograph of a PDF displayed on their iPad—which, by the way, was taken with a Samsung phone. To top it off, this peculiar image was sent via email. Unfortunately, this led to the tedious task of manually processing the invoice that should have been a straightforward transaction.

Now, I’m curious—what’s the most unusual or baffling method you’ve encountered when clients submit their documents? Whether it’s handwritten notes, upside-down scans, or files named something ambiguous like “Image(345).jpg”, I want to hear your stories.

I’m collecting these anecdotes for a project aimed at alleviating the chaos associated with document submissions. I’m not promoting anything, just keen on knowing that I’m not alone in navigating the quirks that come with client interactions. Share your experiences in the comments below!
