What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

When Document Delivery Goes Awry: Share Your Stories

In the modern business landscape, effective communication is essential, especially when it comes to document sharing. Yet, despite the multitude of tools and technologies available, clients sometimes take unexpected approaches. Have you ever received a document in a way that made you scratch your head in disbelief?

Allow me to share my own experience. One time, a client submitted an invoice in an unusually convoluted manner: they snapped a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad —using a Samsung phone, no less—and then emailed that image to me! As a result, we had to manually process the invoice, an endeavor that could have been easily avoided with a more straightforward submission method.

Now, I’m curious to hear from you. What’s the strangest or most difficult document submission you’ve encountered? From handwritten notes to upside-down scans, or even files with cryptic names like “Image(345).jpg,” we all have stories that highlight the chaos of document management.

I’m gathering these anecdotes while working on a project aimed at simplifying and streamlining document submissions. This isn’t a pitch—just a way to connect with others who may find themselves in similar situations. Let’s share our experiences and realize that we’re not alone in navigating these challenges. What’s your story?
