What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Most Unconventional Document Submissions: Tales from the Trenches

In the realm of client communications, we often encounter scenarios that can leave us scratching our heads. Have you ever received a document in such a peculiar manner that it made you question the very nature of digital submissions? I certainly have, and I’d like to share my experience, inviting you to contribute your own stories!

Recently, I encountered an especially baffling situation. A client sent me a picture of a PDF displayed on their iPad. To add to the absurdity, they snapped the photo using a Samsung smartphone and then emailed it to me. As you might imagine, this resulted in a rather chaotic process, necessitating a tedious manual entry of the invoice information.

It seems that many professionals have had their fair share of unconventional document submissions. Whether it’s a handwritten note, an upside-down scan, or a file whimsically renamed as “Image(345).jpg,” the variety of bizarre submissions can be both frustrating and amusing.

I invite you to share your own strange experiences with document delivery. What’s the most puzzling submission you’ve encountered? Perhaps it was a creatively misshapen file or a document that felt more like a riddle than a receipt.

I’m currently working on an initiative aimed at streamlining document submissions to alleviate this chaos, but I’m genuinely curious about your experiences. Let’s exchange stories and find solace in the fact that we are not alone in navigating these often bewildering client communications.
