Bizarre Client Document Submissions: Share Your Stories!
In the world of freelance and client-based work, the variety of document submissions we encounter can be astonishing, to say the least. We’ve all experienced those moments that leave us scratching our heads, wondering just what was going through our clients’ minds when they sent us certain files. Today, I wanted to open the floor to share some of those surprising moments.
I’ll kick things off with an amusing story from my own experience: one client once decided that the best way to send a crucial document was to take a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad, using a Samsung phone. To top it off, they emailed me that image. Not surprisingly, this meant we had to manually process the invoice—definitely not the most efficient approach!
I know I can’t be alone in encountering the odd ways clients submit documentation. Whether it’s a handwritten note, a scan that’s upside down, or an image file named “Image(345).jpg,” these unique submissions often make for fantastic tales.
I’m currently working on a project aimed at simplifying how we handle document submissions, and it would be great to gather some stories along the way. If you have a particularly unusual or frustrating document submission experience, I’d love for you to share it! After all, it helps to know we’re all in this chaotic journey together. Let’s hear your stories!
