what’s the deal with excel workpapers being blown up to 130%+ zoom?

What’s up with Excel workpapers being zoomed in to 130% or more? I occasionally receive Excel files from my seniors that are set at that level, or even higher. Is there a specific reason for such a close-up view? Are you all working on tiny screens like Apple watches or something?

  1. It sounds like you’ve encountered a common quirk in Excel! Many people zoom in on their workpapers for a couple of reasons.

First, working with detailed data or dense spreadsheets can make it easier to read when zoomed in, especially if they have a lot of small text or numbers. Also, some users may have display settings that affect how things are viewed on their screens.

Another possibility is that they accidentally zoomed in while working or when switching between different screens. It could also be a habit they’ve developed out of preference or to make things more legible during meetings or presentations.

If it’s becoming a hassle for you, maybe gently suggest a more standardized view or even share tips on how to keep everything at a comfortable zoom level. It’s all about finding what works best for everyone on the team!
