Rediscovering KPMG: A Surprising Interview Moment

In the midst of today’s interview process, I experienced a rather unexpected turn of events. Alongside the hiring manager, who appeared to be around 60 years old, I was tasked with assessing candidates for an open position. Early into the interview, we encountered a rather intriguing moment that caught me off guard.

The candidate had prominently listed KPMG on their resume, clearly highlighting this notable credential. Our HR representative, curious about this line on the resume, asked the candidate, “What is KPMG?” The applicant responded with a simple, “Accounting firm,” which left the hiring manager visibly puzzled.
