Looking for Weekend Work
Hi everyone! I’m a 30-year-old CPA with plenty of free time, especially outside of the busy season from January to March. I never work weekends and have the capacity to take on additional work beyond my current job.
I genuinely enjoy my current position and everything it comes with. While I could seek out a higher-paying role, I’d much rather pursue side projects than take the risk of switching jobs.
With four busy seasons of Audit experience and several years in private Accounting, I’m open to various opportunities. However, I think a part-time Bookkeeping role that I can manage over the weekends would be an ideal fit for me.
Has anyone here successfully found weekend Accounting work? I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have!

It sounds like you’re in a great position to take on some weekend work, especially with your experience as a CPA. Here are a few suggestions to help you find part-time Bookkeeping opportunities that fit your schedule:
Freelance Platforms: Websites like Upwork, Freelancer, or Fiverr can be great places to find clients looking for part-time Bookkeeping help. You can set your availability and choose projects that fit your expertise.
Networking: Let your professional network know you’re looking for weekend Accounting work. You might find that someone knows of businesses or individuals who need help. LinkedIn can also be handy for this.
Local Small Businesses: Many small business owners need help with Bookkeeping but may not have the budget for a full-time position. Reach out to local businesses to see if they could use your skills on a part-time basis.
Online Job Boards: Websites like Indeed, Glassdoor, or even niche job boards for accountants may list part-time opportunities. Use filters to search for remote or weekend work specifically.
Consulting: Depending on your expertise, you might consider offering consulting services to businesses that need help with their financials or audits. This could involve providing guidance on bookkeeping practices even if you’re not doing the actual bookkeeping.
Word of Mouth: Sometimes personal referrals can land you opportunities. Let friends and family know you’re looking for weekend work; they might have connections to businesses that need assistance.
Join Accounting Groups: Online forums or local accountant groups can be valuable for networking and finding leads on weekend bookkeeping jobs.
Make sure to clearly communicate your availability and set expectations up front with potential clients to ensure a good fit. Good luck!
