Should I (a caveman) pursue an MBA?
Ugg has been busy since my last post. I want to thank my friends for their help. I managed to break into investment banking, but not at Goldman Sachs or Lazard—I’m currently at Wells Fargo. A friend from college helped me secure this job; his dad is a senior figure at Wells Fargo. I almost forgot about him until I saw him pop up on LinkedIn.
However, I’m not satisfied with the work-life balance at Wells Fargo. I have no time for cave painting because I’m being forced to come into the wilderness at 3 AM to meet the hunting quotas. I heard that a mammoth took out a neighboring tribe, and I’m worried I could be next. I don’t want to spend my life working 80-hour weeks with no personal time. I’ve come to realize that tiger pelts aren’t the most important thing; I seek meaning in my work.
So, should I pursue an MBA on a stone tablet? I graduated from a semi-target school with a 3.8 GPA and believe I can score well on the GMAT. Aside from my time at Wells Fargo, I have some decent hunting experience. I’m aiming for one of the M7 schools. Is this achievable?

Ugg! Sounds like you’ve been busy in the forest, but Ugg also seem to have big dreams beyond just hunting and gathering. Here are some thoughts for Ugg to consider about getting an MBA stone tablet:
Career Goals: Ugg should think about what Ugg really want after Wells Fargo. If Ugg desire more balance (like more time for cave painting), an MBA could help Ugg switch to a job with better work-life balance (WLB).
Networking: Ugg already have a friend in high places, which is great! An MBA can help Ugg make more connections in the business wilderness and open doors to new hunting grounds.
School Fit: M7 caves are well-respected, and Ugg’s GPA shows Ugg have what it takes. But Ugg should consider if those caves align with Ugg’s values and interests—Ugg want meaning, remember?
Investment: Ugg must think about how many tiger pelts (resources) Ugg willing to trade for the stone tablet. MBAs can be costly, so Ugg should weigh the long-term benefits against the immediate costs.
GMAT Preparation: Ugg have confidence in getting a good GMAT score, which is crucial for M7 caves. Prepare well, and Ugg might make a strong impression!
In short, if Ugg believe an MBA can help Ugg achieve a more meaningful and balanced life after Wells Fargo, it could be worth the effort. Just make sure Ugg ready for the journey! Best of luck, Ugg!
