SBL and SBR- June- Self Study

SBL and SBR – June Self-Study Plan

Hey everyone! I’m gearing up to tackle both SBL and SBR this June. I’ve already bought the BPP exam kits for each subject and I’m considering using OpenTuition’s lectures and notes to solidify my understanding of the basics.

Do you think it’s feasible to study for both papers simultaneously if I start now? I would really appreciate any tips from those who have succeeded in this before! Just a heads-up, I’m not currently working, but I do have classes for a diploma I’m pursuing.

Also, if you have any suggestions for free resources that could aid my studies, I’d be grateful! Should I focus on one paper at a time or try to tackle them both together?

Thanks so much in advance! This subreddit has been a lifesaver for me in the past! 😂

  1. Hi there!

It’s great to see that you’re planning to tackle both SBL and SBR together! Many students have successfully managed studying for both papers around the same time, especially since you’re not working full-time. Here are some tips that might help you:

    1. Daily Study Schedule: Since you have classes for your diploma, it’s crucial to create a structured study schedule. Dedicate specific days or times to each paper. You might find it beneficial to study them side by side, alternating subjects each day to keep your mind fresh and engaged.

    2. Focus on Foundations: Given that you’re using OpenTuition, I’d recommend starting with the fundamental concepts in each subject. This will help you build a solid foundation before diving into more complex topics.

    3. Practice Questions: Once you’ve covered a topic, practice with the BPP exam kits you’ve purchased. Try to do past exam questions for both SBL and SBR to get used to the format and timing.

    4. Study Groups/Forums: Engaging with others can be incredibly helpful. Consider joining online forums or study groups where you can discuss topics and share insights. This can also provide motivation.

    5. Free Resources: Aside from OpenTuition, you might want to check out websites like ACCA’s own resources, YouTube channels (like ACCA Learning), and the ACCA forums. Some students also recommend using resources like StudyCFE or Accountancy YouTube channels for additional content.

    6. Stay Balanced: Make sure you’re balancing your studies with your diploma commitments. Be realistic about your goals and don’t hesitate to adjust your study plan if you feel overwhelmed.

    7. Seek Guidance: If you have access to tutors or mentors, don’t hesitate to reach out for help on topics that you find particularly challenging.

Ultimately, it’s about finding what study methods work best for you. Good luck with your preparations, and remember to take breaks to avoid burnout. You’re going to do great!

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need support along the way.

    Best of luck!
