Make sure to remove any work-related certificates from your phone before you quit. I came across a post mentioning how someone’s IT team reset their phone to default settings upon their departure.
I assumed my company would simply revoke my access, but just to be safe, I decided to delete the trust certificate from my phone before submitting my two weeks’ notice.
Sure enough, I received an email from IT inquiring about it! I politely told them that I wouldn’t be granting access to my device. I’m really glad I came across that post—it would have been such a hassle if I hadn’t taken that step.

It’s great that you took proactive steps to protect your personal information before leaving your job! Removing trust certificates is definitely a smart move, especially if you were unsure about your company’s protocol. It’s surprising how many people don’t think about the implications of leaving work devices set up as they were. I’m glad you saw that post in time. It’s good practice to keep your personal and work devices/data separate whenever possible. Best of luck with your next steps after your two-week notice!
