Opportunity at PwC Audit in San Francisco or San Jose
Hello everyone! I’m excited about the possibility of joining PwC in either San Francisco or San Jose. Currently, I’m studying for the US CPA Exam and I bring over three years of experience from PwC Philippines, where I held the position of senior associate. However, I’m unsure about the level at which I can apply here in the US.
I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences, including your roles, salaries, bonuses, and typical working hours.
Also, how challenging is it to secure a position at PwC in SF and SJ?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as working at PwC is my dream! 🧡💛 Thank you!

Hi there! It’s great to hear about your aspirations to work at PwC in San Francisco or San Jose, especially with your experience in the Philippines!
Regarding your question about applying as a senior associate in the US, it may depend on how PwC evaluates your previous experience and qualifications. They typically look for relevant skills, work history, and any certifications, so make sure to highlight your achievements in your application. It might be helpful to reach out to a recruiter or someone in HR for clarity on how your experience translates to the US job market.
As for salaries and bonuses, there can be significant variation based on the specific role, location, and your experience level. Generally, entry-level positions in Audit might start at around $70,000-$80,000 per year in the Bay Area, with senior associates earning anywhere from $85,000 to over $100,000, depending on qualifications. Bonuses can vary too, often ranging from 5-15% of the base salary.
In terms of working hours, be prepared for a demanding schedule, especially during busy seasons (like tax season). Typical hours can range from 40 to 70 hours per week, depending on the workload.
Getting a job at PwC in SF or SJ can be competitive, but your prior experience will definitely help. Networking through LinkedIn, attending career fairs, or even reaching out to current employees can give you an edge.
A few tips:
1. Focus on Your Skills: Highlight specific skills and experiences from your time at PwC Philippines that can be beneficial in the US market.
2. Network: Make connections within the firm or alumni from your university who work there; they may provide valuable insights and possibly refer you.
3. Tailor Your Resume: Make sure your resume aligns with US standards and highlights relevant accomplishments.
4. Prepare for Interviews: Practice typical interview questions and be ready to discuss how your experience translates to US practices.
Best of luck with your CPA exam and your application process! It’s fantastic that you’re pursuing your dream. 🧡💛
