Feeling Overwhelmed with SBR
I began my SBR studies at the start of February, and I’m honestly feeling quite overwhelmed. I’m studying every day, but my tuition provider, Mirchawala, offers videos that are about 1.5 to 2 hours long each. This essentially consumes my entire evening after work. I can’t even tackle past questions simultaneously because of time constraints. While I understand the content in the videos, I often forget much of it by the next day. At this pace, I aim to finish the study materials by May and dedicate a month to exam prep. However, I fear I’ll feel lost and will need to “re-learn” everything by then. I initially tried Opentution, but I discovered that they don’t cover the existing FR topics that I needed to review.

Hey there! It sounds like you’re going through a tough time with your SBR studies, and it’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially with such a significant amount of material to cover. Here are a few suggestions that might help:
Chunk Your Study Sessions: Instead of tackling a full 1.5 – 2 hour video in one go, break it up into smaller segments. Maybe watch the video in 30-minute chunks, take notes, and then take a quick break. This can make it easier to retain information.
Active Learning Techniques: Try to engage with the content actively. Instead of just watching the videos, take notes, summarize what you’ve learned, or teach the concepts to someone else (even if it’s just to yourself). This can help reinforce your memory.
Integrate Practice Questions: Even though your time is limited, try to integrate small sets of past questions as you cover each topic. This can help reinforce your learning and identify any areas where you need more focus. You can allocate 15-20 minutes after watching a video to do a few practice questions related to that topic.
Review Regularly: Set aside some time at the end of the week to review what you’ve learned. Quick reviews can help solidify your memory before moving on to new material.
Consider Supplementary Resources: If you feel like you need more support, perhaps consider combining your current tuition provider with supplementary resources like study guides, summary notes, or additional video resources that align better with your learning style.
Stay Positive and Take Breaks: Remember to take care of yourself. It’s important to take breaks and manage stress, as studying can be draining. Make sure to give yourself some downtime to recharge.
Connect with Others: If possible, join a study group or forum where you can share your experiences and get advice from others who are also studying for SBR. Sometimes, just talking about what you’re struggling with can provide clarity.
It’s great that you’re dedicated and putting in the effort every day. Just remember that quality matters more than quantity. Focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly, and don’t hesitate to reach out for help when you need it. Good luck—you’re definitely not alone in this!
