Need help with re-reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Seeking Help for Reconciliation Issues in QuickBooks Online

If you’re experiencing financial discrepancies in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you’re not alone, and I could really use some guidance. I’m willing to provide a small fee for someone who can assist me in resolving this issue.

Recently, while attempting to reconcile a client’s credit card account, I was confronted with a significant balance discrepancy of approximately $12,000. After drilling down into the details, I discovered around 70 transactions with multiple entries labeled “Indirect edit by system” in the transaction timeline. Although these items appeared to be reconciled, the reconciled balance was unexpectedly blank.

In my attempts to rectify this, I stumbled upon a QuickBooks support video suggesting that I alter the “R” status to blank. However, I was aware that this action could impact previous reconciliations. After consulting with QuickBooks support, I was informed that it was my only option, so I proceeded. Unfortunately, this action inadvertently reversed all prior reconciliations on this credit card. Thankfully, my client had only held this card since July 2024, so I figured I could simply re-reconcile the transactions.

Here’s where the complication arises: the credit card in question is a Chase account consisting of a parent card with several associated employee (child) cards. While the Chase statement contains all necessary transactions, when I attempt to reconcile in QBO, it only displays the transactions for the parent account.

I’m at a standstill and need guidance on how to reconcile both the parent and child accounts in QBO when the transactions for the child accounts aren’t visible.

One suggestion I received from the QuickBooks “Expert” was to perform a transfer from the child accounts to the parent account, which made me question the accuracy of their advice.

If anyone has experience tackling similar issues or can provide insights on how to resolve this situation, please reach out. I’d be grateful for any additional information or support, and I’d be happy to discuss my offer further. Thank you!
