Starting a new chapter in one’s career can be a thrilling endeavor, and my wife is about to embark on just that. After nearly two decades of dedicated experience in the Accounting and Bookkeeping field, she is ready to transition from working for employers to serving her own clients. With a wealth of knowledge gained through diverse roles—ranging from a staff accountant managing payroll for over 800 employees at a cable company to an office manager for a real estate developer and construction firm—she possesses a comprehensive skill set that will serve her well.
Currently, she is honing her expertise further by completing various QuickBooks certifications and finalizing her professional website. With an engagement letter drafted and an updated resume in hand, she’s on the cusp of initiating her marketing efforts to attract clients.
It’s important to note that her services will not include tax preparation, as she does not hold CPA or EA credentials. Instead, she aims to support small to mid-sized businesses and new ventures, positioning herself as a cost-effective solution. Her strengths lie in cleaning up disorganized financial records, managing profit and loss statements, crafting balance sheets, and providing valuable insights on cost-saving measures—all while emphasizing automation to enhance efficiency.
As part of her outreach strategy, she is keen to connect with local CPA firms. We are contemplating the best initial approach to reach them.
