As my wife prepares to transition from traditional employment to establishing her own Bookkeeping business, we are reaching out to gain insights from experienced freelance bookkeepers. After dedicating 15 to 20 years in various Accounting roles, she is ready to take on clients independently.
Her impressive background includes serving as a staff accountant and supervisor at a cable company, where she managed payroll for over 800 employees. Additionally, she’s held positions as an office manager and bookkeeper for real estate developers, construction firms, painting companies, and auto mechanics, giving her a diverse skill set and industry knowledge.
Currently, she is finalizing her website and completing a range of QuickBooks certifications, positioning herself as a competent service provider. She has also drafted an engagement letter and updated her resume, making her well-prepared to begin marketing to potential clients.
It’s important to note that she will not be offering tax services, as she is not a CPA or EA. Her target clientele consists of small to mid-sized businesses and newly established operators, whom she aims to assist with cost-effective Bookkeeping solutions. With a knack for organizing disordered records, generating profit and loss statements, and balancing sheets, she also places a strong emphasis on automation to enhance efficiency in her processes.
Our initial marketing strategy involves collaborating with local CPA firms. As we embark on this journey, we seek guidance on the best ways to approach these firms.
