Empowering Small Businesses: A New Beginning in Freelance Bookkeeping

After years of working for various organizations, my wife is finally taking the brave step of launching her own freelance Bookkeeping practice. With nearly two decades of experience in the Accounting and Bookkeeping field, she has built an impressive resume that includes roles such as a staff accountant and payroll supervisor for a cable company with a workforce of over 800 employees. She has also served as an office manager and bookkeeper for a real estate developer, construction firm, painting company, and auto mechanic shop, giving her a well-rounded perspective in multiple sectors.

Currently, she is enhancing her skill set by completing certifications through QuickBooks, with her website nearing completion. With an updated resume and an engagement letter ready, she is poised to begin marketing her services to potential clients.

It’s important to note that while she will be focusing on Bookkeeping, she will not be offering tax services, nor is she a CPA or EA. Her target clientele includes small to mid-sized businesses and new operators looking for cost-effective financial solutions. Her expertise revolves around tidying up disorganized financial records, managing profit and loss statements, generating balance sheets, and providing valuable advice on cost reduction strategies. Additionally, she places a strong emphasis on automation to streamline financial processes.

As part of her initial outreach strategy, she plans to connect with local CPA firms. We are seeking insight from seasoned professionals in the freelance bookkeeping community about the most effective ways to approach these firms.
