My wife is almost ready to start taking on clients – looking for advice from experienced freelance bookkeepers.

Launching a Freelance Bookkeeping Venture: Seeking Your Expertise

As my wife embarks on an exciting new chapter in her professional journey, she is preparing to establish her own freelance Bookkeeping business. After dedicating nearly two decades to the Accounting and Bookkeeping industry, she is ready to step away from traditional employment and offer her extensive expertise to clients directly.

Her impressive background includes roles such as staff accountant and Accounting supervisor, where she managed payroll for over 800 employees at a cable company. Additionally, she has served as an office manager and bookkeeper for various businesses, including real estate development, construction, painting services, and auto mechanics. With such a diverse set of experiences, she is well-equipped to tackle a range of bookkeeping challenges.

Equipped with an in-depth knowledge of QuickBooks, she is currently completing her certifications to further enhance her skills. Her website is on the verge of launch, and she has already drafted her engagement letter and updated her resume. With these crucial steps nearly finalized, she is eager to begin marketing her services to potential clients.

It’s important to note that she will not be providing tax services and is not a CPA or EA. Her target clientele includes small to mid-sized businesses, as well as newer enterprises in need of a cost-effective bookkeeping solution. She excels in streamlining messy financial records, generating profit and loss statements, balancing sheets, and identifying cost-cutting opportunities, all while prioritizing automation in her processes.

As a part of her outreach strategy, her initial focus will be on local CPA firms. We are keen to hear your advice on the best methods for making a positive first impression. Should we initiate our contact through email, phone calls, or in-person visits? Moreover, we welcome any tips you might have on how to present ourselves professionally and effectively during these interactions.

We are planning to bill clients on an hourly basis, but we are also open to any insights regarding client acquisition strategies or general guidance that could assist her in establishing her freelance practice.

Thank you in advance for your valuable input as we embark on this new adventure!
