My first major finding!

Exciting news—I just made my first major discovery!

While working on a project, a whistleblower from the company I was auditing reached out today to let me know they were resigning. They also provided me with the documentation I had been seeking to understand my findings more clearly. It turns out that there have been instances of submitting deceptive and misleading reports to a federal agency every month. I feel like this information was handed to me on a silver platter.

I’ve always believed in working hard while being humble and respectful during site visits. I’ve found that kindness and professionalism go a long way in achieving success. This whistleblower contacted me months later because they had a change of heart and felt I was approachable.

As a contractor, I’m unsure whether I’ll be able to keep the project and pursue further investigation or if the feds will take it over and assign me other tasks. My instinct tells me that the feds missed this the first time, and I’m reluctant to let it go, but ultimately, the decision isn’t in my hands.

Regardless, I’m feeling great about this. I’ve never encountered a finding of this magnitude before!

  1. Wow, congratulations on your major finding! It sounds like you’ve made a significant impact with your work, and it’s incredible that a whistleblower felt comfortable enough to reach out to you. That really speaks to your professionalism and the trust you’ve built in your role.

Navigating the next steps can be tricky, especially with the potential involvement of federal agencies. While it’s understandable to want to see this through yourself, it’s important to follow the correct protocols. Regardless of what happens, this experience is a testament to your skills and integrity. Whether you get to continue on this project or start fresh, remember that this finding will greatly enhance your expertise and reputation in the field. Keep up the great work, and best of luck with whatever comes next!
