My first major finding!

Exciting news about my first major discovery! While working on a project, I received a call today from a whistleblower within the company I was auditing. They are resigning and provided me with the documentation I needed to clarify my findings. It turns out there is actual involvement in submitting deceptive and misleading reports to a federal agency every month. I feel like I’ve been handed a golden opportunity!

I put in a lot of hard work, but I also approach my site visits with humility and respect. I’ve realized that being kind and professional has significantly contributed to my success. This whistleblower reached out months later because they felt a sense of duty and found me approachable.

As a contractor, I’m uncertain whether I’ll get to continue this project and the recognition that comes with it, or if the federal agency will take over and redirect me. My instinct is that the feds missed it the first time, so I’m hesitant to hand it over, but ultimately, it’s not my decision.

Regardless, I’m feeling great about this breakthrough! This is the first significant finding I’ve encountered in my career.
