MBAs

Why is it that everyone I’ve encountered at work who has an MBA from a prestigious school is so unbearable? They can’t even engage in a simple conversation about their weekend plans.

I’m really not a fan of this career path because it feels like no one around me is just down-to-earth—it’s all about ambition and drive. Honestly, I couldn’t care less about finance.

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling pretty frustrated with your work environment and the people in it. It’s not uncommon for individuals from top MBA programs to carry a certain air of ambition or competitiveness that can come off as insufferable. The intense focus on career success at these schools can sometimes lead to a lack of balance in personal life conversations.

If finance isn’t your passion, it might be worth exploring ways to connect with colleagues on a more personal level or seek out opportunities in different areas that align more with your interests. Finding a community that shares your values and interests can make a huge difference in job satisfaction. Remember, it’s okay to prioritize your own happiness over the typical corporate hustle. Have you considered reaching out to people outside of your immediate workplace or even pursuing hobbies that interest you? Sometimes, a shift in perspective can help!
