Just had capital one’s power day and feeling scared

I just finished Capital One’s Power Day, and I’m feeling a bit anxious. I applied to their Business Analyst ADP program and participated in the Power Day yesterday, which included two case interviews and one product interview. I’m not very confident about how I performed in the case interviews. The first one went okay; the interviewer provided some hints that helped me arrive at the answer after a little guidance. However, the second case was more challenging—I struggled and needed significant help from the interviewer to differentiate between two business strategies.

This role is one of my dream jobs, and I can’t shake the feeling that I messed it up despite the hours I spent preparing and networking. I haven’t received any feedback yet, but given how competitive Capital One is, my hopes aren’t high. Just needed to vent a little. Feeling a bit disheartened and drained.

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel this way after such an intense experience. Remember that interviews, especially case interviews, can be unpredictable and stressful, no matter how much you prepare. The fact that you put in hours of prep and networking shows your dedication, and that alone is something to be proud of.

Each interview is a learning opportunity, even if it didn’t go as well as you hoped. Many people face setbacks in the interview process, and you’re certainly not alone in feeling this way. Try to focus on what you can take away from the experience and how you can improve for next time, if necessary.

It’s also worth noting that it’s not uncommon for candidates to feel unsure about their performance, even when they actually do well. Keep your head up, and give yourself credit for putting yourself out there. Whatever the outcome, take it as a valuable experience that will help you grow both personally and professionally. You’ve got this!
