Navigating the Interview Maze: Preparing for a Senior IT Auditor Role
Hello everyone!
I’m currently in the exciting yet challenging phase of interviewing for a Senior Vice President position as an IT auditor within a major American financial firm. This role is based at one of their offices in East Asia, and I’d love to share a bit about my journey so far, along with seeking your invaluable insights.
Having successfully completed interviews with the Head of Internal IT Audit and an IT Audit Manager, I’ve reached the next stage—a 30-minute meeting with the Head of Internal Audit. The previous discussions largely revolved around my professional background, technical acumen, and how well I align with the IT audit team. I’d like to think they went quite well.
Now, as I prepare for this next crucial round, I’m reaching out to those who have walked this path before, particularly if you’re currently holding a Senior Internal IT Auditor position—or even if you’ve been in the shoes of the Head of Internal Audit. Here’s what I’m curious about:
- What type of questions did the Head of Internal Audit pose during your interviews?
- If you were in the position of the Head of Internal Audit, what questions would be top of mind for you?
- What thoughtful questions could I, as a candidate, ask the Head of Internal Audit to demonstrate my interest and understanding?
I appreciate any advice you can share. Your insights would be invaluable in helping me prepare for this pivotal conversation. Thank you in advance!
