Inter-dealer brokers, what are your salary expectations? (London)
I’ve received a £35k offer to train as an IDB broker in London and I’m curious to know what kind of compensation (base and bonus) I might expect in the long run for this position. Any insights would be appreciated!

It’s great that you’re considering a role as an inter-dealer broker! The initial salary of £35k for training is fairly standard in London, especially for entry-level positions.
As for long-term compensation, it can vary significantly based on several factors including the firm, your overall performance, and the specific market you’re dealing in. Typically, after a few years of experience, it’s common for brokers to see their salaries rise to between £50k and £80k, with top performers potentially earning over £100k when bonuses are factored in.
Some brokers also move into senior positions, which can lead to substantial increases in both base salary and bonus potential. It’s a role that rewards hard work and success, so your earnings can really grow if you perform well.
Make sure to consider the commission structure and any bonuses that might come with the role, as these can significantly impact your overall earnings. Good luck!
