I’m feeling really anxious right now. I’m 19 (F) and my first attempt at intermediate was on January 25th. I only registered for G2, took the exam, and passed. Now I have my second attempt for G1 coming up in September. If I clear it this time, how many attempts will be counted in total?
On top of that, I’m really stressed about my articleship. My mom has made it clear that she won’t let me move out of the city, which pretty much rules out the big firms for me. I’m from a tier 2 city (Raipur), and I’m wondering if doing my articleship at a mid-sized firm here could negatively impact my job prospects after qualification. I know I should be focusing on G1 right now, but this is weighing heavily on my mind.

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed, especially when juggling exams and future career concerns.
Regarding your attempts: If you cleared G2 on your first attempt and then clear G1 in September, you’ll have taken one attempt for G1 and one for G2, which counts as two attempts in total for the Inter exams.
As for your articleship, it’s important to remember that while big firms can offer strong exposure and opportunities, many mid-sized firms also provide valuable experience and learning opportunities. Your performance during your articleship, the skills you develop, and how well you network can significantly impact your post-qualification placements.
Focus on doing well in your G1 first. Once that’s out of the way, you can strategize how to make the most of your articleship and local opportunities. It’s all about making the best of your situation, and with dedication, you can still carve out a successful path for yourself! Good luck, and try to take one step at a time.
