I NEED HELP URGENT

URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi everyone! I’ve been a long-time lurker on this sub and never thought I would actually get to post here.

I just received an exciting opportunity to interview for an internship at an Audit and assurance firm—it’s happening tomorrow! I’m feeling a bit anxious and could really use your help to prep. What kind of questions should I expect?

I’m only halfway through my degree and ACCA qualification, so my practical experience is limited. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated to help me ace this interview! Thank you!

  1. Hey! First off, congratulations on landing the interview—that’s an exciting opportunity! Here are some tips and common questions you might encounter, which can help you prepare:

    1. Understand the Firm

    • Research the Company: Make sure you know about their services, values, and culture. Understanding their approach to Audit and assurance will show your genuine interest.

    2. Know the Basics of Audit and Assurance

    • Brush up on key concepts such as types of audits (internal vs. external), the Audit process, basic Accounting principles, and the importance of compliance and ethics.

    3. Common Interview Questions

Here are some questions they might ask:
Why do you want to pursue a career in audit and assurance?
Can you explain the audit process from planning to reporting?
What do you think are the main challenges facing the auditing profession today?
Tell us about a time when you had to work as part of a team. What was your role?
How do you prioritize tasks when you have tight deadlines?
Your thoughts about the importance of ethics in auditing?

    4. Technical Questions

    • Be prepared for questions related to specific Accounting principles, recent Accounting standards changes, or basic audit procedures.
    • You may also want to review some ACCA content related to auditing to feel more confident.

    5. Behavioral Questions

    • Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to answer behavioral questions.
    • Think of experiences from your studies, group projects, or any part-time jobs that demonstrate your skills.

    6. Ask Questions

    • Prepare a couple of thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. This can reflect your interest and help you assess if the firm is the right fit for you.

    7. Practice

    • If possible, do a mock interview with a friend or family member to practice your responses. This can help with your confidence.

    8. Dress Professionally

    • Make sure you dress appropriately for the interview—business attire is typically expected for a firm in this sector.

    9. Be Yourself

    • Don’t stress too much! They’re also looking for personality fit, so be genuine and show enthusiasm for the role.

Good luck with your interview! You’ve got this! 🎉
