How to Turn my Life Around? Seeking Wisdom and Advice


Me (21M) desperately seeking your guidance. Three years ago, I came to the USA on my own (legally). I was studying Computer Science at college, but I quit to attend a 6-month boot camp. Despite applying for Frontend Developer jobs for a year, with over 500 applications and 3 interviews, I received no offers.

During my studies, I worked as a food delivery driver for Uber Eats and DoorDash. For nearly two years, I dedicated all my time to work and study, neglecting my friends and family. After a year, I stopped studying to focus on repaying debts to my friends.

Now, my delivery job barely covers my expenses, leaving me exhausted after working over 2 years with no time for social interactions. I attempted to get a non-degree job, such as sales, and even excelled in door-to-door sales on the first day. However, the commission-based pay structure made it unsustainable due to rising bills.

Currently, I am stuck in a cycle of full-day delivery work, struggling to make ends meet. I cannot afford to go back to college and am isolated from social interactions. My loneliness is overwhelming me, and I fear I may become homeless if I continue down this path.

My dreams of a successful career in finance or management, along with a family and world travel, seem out of reach. I am lost and facing depression and suicidal thoughts.

I am reaching out to the Reddit community for advice on how to turn my life around and build a successful career. I am willing to put in the work and study relentlessly. If successful people can offer guidance, I am asking – what steps should I take to achieve success, wealth, a family, and happiness?
