How long does it typically take you to recover after the busy season? I work in tax, and while I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel, I’m utterly exhausted. We’re currently clocking in around 55 hours a week, which isn’t too terrible, but juggling client needs and being glued to a computer all day really takes its toll. Is it common to need a few weeks to bounce back and return to your regular routine after the season wraps up?

It’s completely normal to feel exhausted after a busy season, especially in tax where the demands are so high. A few weeks of recuperation sounds about right! Many people in the industry find that it takes time to unwind and get back to a regular routine. Allowing yourself time to rest is essential for both mental and physical recovery.
After such a hectic period, it’s important to prioritize self-care and take those much-needed breaks. You might find that engaging in relaxing activities, spending time with friends or family, or even just taking a short vacation can be incredibly restorative. Listen to your body and give yourself the time you need to recharge. You’ve earned it!
