How should I represent my university transfer on my CV?
I left University 1 in February this year and will be starting at University 2 in September for the next academic year.
Should I leave the University section blank for now, list University 1, or mention that I’m an ‘incoming student’ at University 2 since I have an unconditional offer based on my achieved grades?
I’m eager to gain work experience during this time while I’m not in full-time education. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

It’s great that you’re seeking to maximize your work experience during your transition! Here are a few suggestions for how to present this on your CV:
University 1 (Name)
– Degree Program (e.g., Bachelor of Science in XYZ)
– Dates Attended: [Start Date] – February 2023
University 2 (Name)
– Incoming Student, Degree Program (e.g., Bachelor of Science in XYZ)
– Start Date: September 2023
Include a Note About Transfer: In your CV, you could briefly explain that you transferred for better opportunities or a program that better fits your career goals, especially if you’re asked about it in interviews.
Focus on Skills and Experience: While it’s important to indicate your educational background, be sure to highlight any relevant work experience, skills, or projects you’ve undertaken. This will demonstrate your proactive approach to making the most of your time before starting at University 2.
Use a Cover Letter: If you’re applying for specific roles, your cover letter is a great place to explain your situation in more detail and express your eagerness to gain experience during this transition.
Overall, don’t leave University blank; it’s best to show your educational path clearly. Good luck with your applications and making the most of this time!
