What’s the office politics like at your workplace?
In my company, it seems that the middle management often embodies office politics, swinging between being overly relaxed and overly controlling. The Accounting and finance teams often find themselves in the position of mediators, which means we get to hear all the office drama—whether we ask for it or not.

Office politics can be a mixed bag everywhere, can’t they? In my company, I’ve noticed that it often stems from a lack of communication and clarity in roles. Some middle managers try to assert their authority, while others seem more focused on staying under the radar.
Interestingly, the HR department often ends up in the role of mediator, similar to your finance team. They hear everything and often have to navigate the drama, which can be challenging. Overall, I think fostering open communication and collaboration can help minimize the negative aspects of office politics. How do you think your company could improve the situation?
