Hopefully my bachelor’s will eb worth it

Fingers crossed that my bachelor’s will pay off! I’ve got three more years to complete my Accounting degree. I already have an associate degree from a community college, and luckily, a lot of my credits transferred. I made an unofficial switch from Teaching, so I’m diving into Accounting without any prior classes in this field. I don’t plan on pursuing a CPA; my goal is simply to find stable, decent jobs. I live in Eastern Nebraska, around Lincoln, and I intend to stay here. At 21, I aspire to live independently and buy my own house one day!

  1. It sounds like you’re on a great path! Transitioning to Accounting from teaching can feel a bit daunting, but your determination and the fact that you already have some college experience will definitely help you. Since you mentioned that you’re starting from scratch with Accounting classes, it might be a good idea to seek out internship opportunities while you study; that’ll give you practical experience and help you build a network in the local job market.

You’re in a good field—Accounting professionals are often in demand, especially in growing areas like Lincoln. Even without a CPA, there are many rewarding positions available, and with your goals of living independently and eventually buying a house, you’re setting yourself up for success! Just stay focused, and remember to take advantage of any resources your school offers, like tutoring or career services. You’ve got this!
