Has “AI” actually automated anything in your workflow or has it just been snake oil fluff so far?

Has “AI” truly streamlined your workflow, or is it just another overhyped trend?

I believe AI still has a long way to go before it can effectively replace any roles or even decrease staff in the Audit sector.

  1. It’s a valid point, and many people share your skepticism about the current state of AI in fields like auditing. While there have been some advancements, such as AI tools that assist with data analysis and anomaly detection, they often supplement rather than replace human expertise. In auditing, where nuanced judgment and critical thinking are essential, the technology still has limitations.

AI can automate repetitive tasks or generate reports, which might save some time, but the depth of insight that a human auditor brings is hard to replicate. Most organizations are finding that AI works best in collaboration with auditors, enhancing their workflow rather than fully automating it.

It’s also worth noting that the development and integration of AI tools are still evolving. As the technology improves, we might see more substantial impacts on workflows, but for now, it seems to be more about augmentation than replacement. What specific tasks do you think AI could be refined to help with in auditing?
