  1. My first position in the Accounting field was as a Staff Accountant at a small firm. I worked on a variety of tasks, including Bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax preparations. It was a great introduction to the field and allowed me to gain hands-on experience and learn the ins and outs of Accounting processes.

For someone just starting in Accounting, I would recommend beginning as a bookkeeper or an accounts payable/receivable clerk. These roles provide foundational knowledge of financial transactions and help develop organizational skills. Additionally, pursuing internships or entry-level positions can open doors and provide valuable networking opportunities. It’s also beneficial to continuously learn—consider obtaining certifications like the CPA or enrolling in relevant courses to enhance your skills and knowledge.
