Fellow accountants — what do you use to track your personal budgets?

Seeking Recommendations for Personal Budgeting Tools: A Call to Fellow Accountants

As fellow professionals in the world of finance, I find myself turning to you for your expertise and insights. Managing personal budgets is a key component of maintaining financial health, yet I’m currently facing some challenges that I believe many of you can relate to.

For quite a while, I have relied on a simple Excel spreadsheet to track my budgeting. While it has served its purpose, the process of updating it manually each month has become increasingly cumbersome. Balancing finances can be particularly tricky, especially as my partner and I maintain largely separate accounts, frequently utilizing Venmo for cost-sharing. This creates the additional challenge of categorizing those transactions accurately.

I would greatly appreciate your recommendations! Whether you’re single or in a relationship, what tools or applications have you found helpful for personal budgeting? Your tips and suggestions could help streamline my budgeting process and make it a lot less tedious. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
