feeling extremely anxious after reading all the negative reviews of my institute.

I’m feeling really anxious after reading some negative reviews about my institute. I wanted to share here because I think you all can relate. I’m in my second year and have chosen to pursue ACCA. With no prior knowledge, I was exploring different institutes when I found Zell Education. I had a counseling session and things moved quickly—I was enrolled within a week.

Recently, I started seeing posts on LinkedIn calling Zell Education a scam, and it’s been stressing me out. I come from a middle-class family, and they’re very supportive of my decision to pursue this expensive course. I’m worried about possibly wasting their hard-earned money. So far, I haven’t had any bad experiences with the institute; I received my books yesterday, and the teacher for Financial Reporting is great and addresses all my doubts.

My main concern is that I haven’t registered with the ACCA body yet, as they were supposed to do it for me. Is this normal, or am I overthinking it? They also mentioned that I wouldn’t have to pay any exemption fees since they are platinum partners—is that really the case?

Sorry for the lengthy post; I just needed to get these thoughts off my chest. I’ll be taking the Financial Reporting exam in June, so if anyone has tips or advice, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

  1. Hey there! I totally understand where you’re coming from—it can be really tough to see negative reviews, especially when you’ve already committed to a program. It’s normal to feel anxious about making such an important decision, especially when it involves your family’s support and financial investment.

First off, it’s great to hear that so far your experience with Zell Education has been positive. Your teacher being supportive and responsive is a good sign. The concerns you have regarding the registration with ACCA and the exemption fees are valid. It’s not uncommon for there to be a waiting period for registration, especially if they are processing it for you, but it wouldn’t hurt to follow up with them directly to get clarity on your registration status.

As for the claims about being a platinum partner and waiving exemption fees, that’s something you can verify through other resources or even by contacting ACCA directly. It’s always good to do a bit of your own research alongside what the institute tells you.

Ranting is perfectly okay, and it’s important to express your worries. You’ve made a decision to pursue ACCA, and that’s commendable! Remember, no program is perfect, and part of the experience is navigating these uncertainties.

In the meantime, focus on your studies for Financial Reporting (FR) and try to connect with other students who might be in the same boat. Building a support system can really help alleviate some stress. And don’t hesitate to reach out to your institute for any doubts or worries you may have; they should be there to support you!

Wishing you the best of luck with your studies and upcoming exams! You’ve got this!
