Feel free to be rude and means.

I’m open to some tough love here. I’m a 21-year-old M21 student, currently in the process of completing my PCM. I passed the foundation course in January 2023 on my first try with a score of 200. However, I’ve hit a wall in my intermediate studies. I don’t count my first attempt because I didn’t truly study for it. In my second attempt, the course changed, and I chose to tackle both groups but only managed to pass in law and Audit. I find Group 2 intriguing, so I decided to give it another shot. I felt confident this time, but when the results were announced on Diwali, I was devastated to discover I failed by just 11 marks in aggregate. 💔

In my fourth attempt, I not only failed Group 2 but also struggled with costing, and my overall aggregate is far from impressive. My parents have suggested I give up and pursue an SSC path instead. Still, I believe I haven’t given it my all yet. Right now, I haven’t made any changes for May 2025, but I’m contemplating attempting both groups one last time in September 2025.

I could really use some advice or motivation. What do you think?

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a really tough time, and it’s completely understandable to feel frustrated and disheartened after the attempts you’ve made. It’s clear that you’re passionate about your studies, which is a great starting point.

Firstly, it’s important to recognize that setbacks are a part of any journey, especially in challenging programs like PCM. It’s commendable that you want to push through and give it one last shot, but here are a few things to consider:

    1. Reflect on Your Study Methods: Take some time to evaluate how you’ve been studying. Are you using effective strategies? Perhaps seek help from peers, mentors, or tutors to identify areas where you can improve your understanding.

    2. Set Realistic Goals: While it’s great to be ambitious, remember that it’s also important to set achievable goals. Instead of aiming for perfection, focus on making steady progress.

    3. Consider a Break: If you’re feeling burned out, a short break might help. Sometimes, stepping away for a bit can give you a fresh perspective and renewed energy.

    4. Keep Communication Open with Your Parents: Explain to them why you feel it’s important to stay the course. Maintaining an open dialogue can help them understand your passion and commitment.

    5. Stay Positive: Surround yourself with positive influences and stay motivated. Remember, many successful people faced failures before achieving their goals.

    6. Plan for the Future: Whether you decide to pursue PCM further or explore other options like SSC, having a backup plan can relieve some pressure.

Ultimately, listen to your instincts about your studies. If you truly believe you haven’t given your all yet, then it’s worth a final attempt, but make sure you’re prepared and ready for whatever comes next. Good luck!
