Introducing Our Expense Tracking SaaS
Hey there!
As a team with non-accountants at the helm, we’re excited to share that we’ve developed a web app designed to simplify the way employees track their receipts and expenses, whether for corporate cards or personal reimbursements. Leveraging OCR and AI/LLM technology, we aim to bring a seamless experience to expense management.
After receiving fantastic feedback from industry insiders, we’re gearing up to launch this as a SaaS platform. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the features you’d like to see included in an expense management tool!
Motivated by a frustration with complicated spreadsheet expense reporting—especially for companies that aren’t big enough to utilize platforms like Concur—we’re excited to offer a user-friendly alternative. Unlike many existing options, our platform doesn’t charge on a per-user basis, even for infrequent expense submitters. Instead, we offer unlimited use for everyone.
Your input would be invaluable! We’d also appreciate hearing about any pain points you’ve encountered with your current expense management processes.
If you’re interested in checking out our pre-alpha version for free, feel free to send me a message!
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hi there!
First off, congratulations on taking the leap to build a web app for expense tracking—this is definitely a much-needed solution for many companies! Here are some features that I believe would be highly desirable for your platform:
Mobile App Integration: Having a mobile app for on-the-go expense tracking can significantly enhance user experience. Users can easily snap pictures of receipts and record expenses in real time.
Multi-Currency Support: If you’re dealing with international employees or teams, multi-currency support would be a great feature, allowing users to submit expenses in different currencies with automatic conversion.
Automated Approval Workflows: Simplifying the approval process can save time. Implementing a robust system where managers can easily review and approve expenses through notifications could really streamline operations.
Analytics Dashboard: Providing insights and analytics on spending patterns can help companies make informed decisions regarding budgets and expenses.
Integration with Accounting Software: Seamless integration with popular Accounting Software (like QuickBooks, Xero, or others) would make exporting financial data much easier, reducing duplicate data entry.
Customizable Categories: Allowing companies to set their own expense categories can help tailor the app to specific needs and reporting structures.
Policy Compliance Checks: Notifying users if an expense doesn’t comply with corporate policies before submission can cut down on rejection rates and save time for both employees and approvers.
Digital Receipt Storage: A built-in digital storage for receipts with robust search and filter options would help users easily locate past expenses when needed.
As for existing workflows, my biggest gripes include inconsistent submission processes and the hassle of collecting physical receipts. Often, employees forget to submit expenses until the last minute, leading to a frenzy at the end of the month. A user-friendly reminder system to prompt submissions could help alleviate this issue.
Thanks again for reaching out! Best of luck with your launch—can’t wait to see how your app evolves!
