My coworkers often ask me why I don’t own a car, and I usually respond with, “It’s an eco-friendly choice.” While that is true to some extent, the deeper reason lies in my quest for financial independence.

By not having a car, I’ve found that I can save money, which I intend to use to fuel my dream of starting my own business. My goal is to escape the confines of traditional work environments and embrace a fully remote lifestyle—no hybrid setups for me.

Applying for positions labeled “CPA required” or “CPA preferred” provides a sense of confidence; there’s no need to justify my worth. I am a CPA, and that qualification speaks for itself.

Rather than trying to convince employers of my productivity and effectiveness in a remote setting—where many seem skeptical—I prefer to eliminate the middleman entirely. By working directly with clients, I can showcase my value from the comfort of my own home, fundamentally changing the way I approach my professional life.
