Seeking Career Guidance

I’m a high school student with a strong passion for architecture and a knack for design. I love exploring various design approaches and have a deep appreciation for art. Currently, I’m taking IB Maths Standard, Business Standard, Art Higher Level, and Design & Technology Higher Level. I have hands-on experience creating models and working with Fusion 360, along with solid skills in traditional drawing. I view myself as a creative thinker brimming with ideas, and I’ve always aspired to build a career in architecture.
However, I have some concerns about the financial prospects of the field, as I’ve heard that architecture typically doesn’t offer the best salaries compared to other sectors. I’ve considered the idea of starting my own firm, but ultimately, I have a goal of earning a six-figure income. I’m contemplating whether I should pursue architecture initially and later shift to something like finance or real estate, which generally provides higher salaries.
On a side note, I’ve recently been flipping items and discovered that I’m quite skilled at it—especially with vintage watches. I find dealing with money enjoyable and have explored investment banking, but my heart is really set on architecture, provided it could offer a comparable salary. At the same time, I value my personal time and wouldn’t want a job that requires 90-hour work weeks.
Considering my interests and aspirations, would you recommend I focus on finance, pursue architecture, or maybe explore a career that combines elements of both? I’d appreciate any advice you may have!
