Can’t get an entry level accounting job…loosing hope

Struggling to Land an Entry-Level Accounting Job: Seeking Guidance

In recent months, I’ve dedicated countless hours to applying for entry-level Accounting positions across California, yet I find myself increasingly disheartened by the lack of response. With a degree in hand and valuable experience from various academic projects—though not an internship—I’ve tailored my resume time and again. However, despite my efforts, the outcome remains disheartening: minimal feedback and virtually no interviews.

It’s perplexing to see assertions about a high demand for accountants when my reality seems starkly different. It feels as though I’m being overlooked entirely, and my hope is waning. I’ve broadened my search, expressing a willingness to consider remote opportunities, relocation, or even taking on roles outside of traditional Accounting to gain that essential first step into the industry—but still, no luck.

I am reaching out to the community: has anyone else experienced a similar journey? What strategies or resources would you recommend to those of us who are eager to break into the accounting field? Your insights would be invaluable as I navigate this challenging landscape.
