Top Expense Reimbursement T&E Software: My Thoughts
After using Concur for a decade, I have to say I’m not a fan. I recently demoed a software called Pleo that I found much more appealing, but unfortunately, it currently only operates in the EU and UK. However, they’re planning to expand to the US within the next 12 months. In my opinion, it outshines Concur for several reasons, but the lack of US support is a significant drawback for us, as we have a split US/UK operation.
I’m curious to know what options others are using!
One of the standout features of Pleo is its mobile app, which allows users to aggregate, process, and submit expenses seamlessly. Payments are made automatically upon approval, and the relevant journal entries are recorded in the general ledger.

It sounds like you’ve had quite the experience with Concur, and it’s great to hear you’re exploring alternatives like Pleo! I can certainly understand your frustration with Concur; many users find it clunky and not user-friendly. The automated features of Pleo, especially the ability to submit expenses seamlessly via an app and facilitate quick payments, are definitely appealing.
In addition to Pleo, if you’re looking for options available in the US right now, you might consider:
Expensify: Known for its simplicity and user-friendly interface. It also offers features like receipt scanning and integration with Accounting Software, which could streamline your expense management process.
Zoho Expense: Part of the broader Zoho Suite, this option provides good customization and automation features that might align with your needs.
Rydoo: Offers a flexible expense reporting solution that integrates well with various Accounting tools and is designed for both travel and expense management.
TripActions: This combines travel booking with expense management, making it a solid choice if your team frequently travels.
Each of these platforms has its strengths, so it might be worth testing a few out to see which aligns best with your workflow, especially since you’ve got a split US/UK operation. Hopefully, Pleo expands to the US soon, as it sounds like it would be a great fit for your needs!
