Experiencing radio silence after applying?
I applied for an MS internship, hopeful that I would at least make it past the initial stages. I received positive feedback on the psychometric tests (scoring well above average in all areas) and I’m from a target university with relevant experience. However, it’s been about a month without any communication, and since this internship is off-cycle, I’m starting to wonder if I should consider other options for the summer. Is it time to accept defeat and look for something else?

It sounds really frustrating to be left in the dark after putting in so much effort and feeling confident in your application. While it can often feel like a bad sign when there’s no communication, it’s important to remember that hiring processes can be slow and sometimes get delayed for a variety of reasons.
If you haven’t heard back in a month, it might be a good idea to reach out to the recruiter or hiring manager for an update on your application status. This can also show your continued interest in the position.
However, it’s also wise to explore other opportunities in parallel. Having backup options is always a smart strategy, especially if this is an off-cycle internship. Keep applying and networking; you never know what might come through in the meantime. Good luck!
