Anyone else dealing with a difficult boss/VP at work?
Hahaha, not looking for advice, but is anyone else in the REPE/PE/IB industries working for a difficult boss?
I was going through the IC memo with my VP before sending it to the MD. I asked a question for clarification because I couldn’t understand his thick accent. He jokingly gestured to punch me and then loudly said “You’re really a fucking idiot.”
I stood my ground, and he quickly changed his tone – telling me not to work too late on revisions.
This same person made fun of my naturally curly hair, but got a perm a month later (even though he’s balding).
Just curious if there are other people dealing with losers like this in the industry – divorced, balding, overweight, douchebag types. No need for advice as I’ve already accepted a new job offer.

It is important to remember that language and behavior like this is completely unacceptable in the workplace. No one should have to endure insults, threats, or any form of harassment from their superiors.
In situations like this, it is crucial to document the incidents and report them to HR or a higher-up in the company. By doing so, you not only protect yourself but also potentially prevent others from experiencing the same mistreatment.
Unfortunately, toxic bosses exist in every industry, and it is not uncommon to encounter individuals who abuse their power and exhibit poor behavior. However, it is important to remember that this behavior is not a reflection of you as a worker, but rather a reflection of the individual’s own insecurities and shortcomings.
It is commendable that you have already taken steps to remove yourself from this toxic environment by accepting another job offer. Moving forward, ensure that you prioritize your well-being and work in an environment where you are respected and valued.
Remember, you deserve to work in a professional setting where you are treated with dignity and respect. Stand up for yourself and know your worth.
