How to Gain Accounting Experience on Your Own
I’ve tried countless approaches and hit a wall each time. Living in a small town means job opportunities are scarce. Potential employers lose interest once they find out I run my own tax firm and won’t be available year-round. I’m currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree and working towards my enrolled agent status simultaneously. Despite being well-versed in Accounting, I desperately need practical experience.
I’ve contacted nearly 50 CPAs and Accounting firms, resulting in only four interviews, all of which insisted on year-round availability. I’m at a loss—are there any alternative ways to gain the experience I need?
